Hickory Dickory Dock – Ian Adair EXCLUSIVE

Every now and then, a trick comes along which you feel can’t be bettered. This is one of them – though I hope someone DOES add some clever idea which we haven’t thought of! This trick seemed to be complete from the moment it was thought up by ideas man, Ian Adair, who is shown displaying the prop in one of the pictures.

Of course, it follows the age-old nursery rhyme, but if you don’t know it, or this doesn’t exist in your country – don’t despair! The routine takes that into account, by teaching the children the very simple rhyme. It’s so simple that you keep forgetting it and the children have to help you!

‘Hickory Dickory Dock,

The mouse ran up the clock.

The clock struck one;

The mouse ran down,

Hickory Dickory Dock!’

Once you have got it right, you get the children to recite it together. Now, you’ve brought along the clock to show them. Here it is, and the door opens like this to show the pendulum. And over here, we have a picture of the little mouse. No, that’s a piece of cheese. Maybe it’s this one. No, that’s another piece of cheese. Ah, here he is. I hope he doesn’t eat all the cheese. We’ll put him over here.

Now the clock strikes one, and the little mouse…Wait a minute! The mouse has vanished! Where can he be? In the clock? No, he’s not there.

Can you hear him squeaking? I can! He’s where? Peeping out. No he isn’t! Oh, you mean there! Well wasn’t he clever!

Comes complete with cards and clock – all beautifully silk-screened. The clock is brown and gold and screened onto wipe-clean plastic, as is the cut-out of the little mouse.

We’re really proud of this item. We feel it is one of the best we have ever produced: simple story line, lots of fun, simple mechanics, and a prop you’ll feel equally proud to own.
