How to Order

Orders may be placed online, by phone, or by email. If you have placed your order by phone in the past and prefer this method so that you can discuss your particular requirements, please feel free to continue to do so.

Please note that we have a minimum order requirement of £5.00 for the UK and £10.00 overseas. This excludes postage. We feel sure that customers will appreciate that very small orders are time-consuming and uneconomical. Thank you.

ALL ORDERS PLACED BEFORE 3PM WILL SHIP SAME DAY.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY ORDERS WILL SHIP NEXT BUSINESS DAY.

Postage / Shipping Costs and Payment

· Postage in the UK
· Postage to Europe
· Postage to the Rest of the World.

Postage in the UK
1. The majority of our daily post is sent through DPD or Royal Mail by First Class post.

DPD is a tracked and signed for next day service. You will be notified of shipping information via text and/or email. A one hour delivery slot is normal for this service. For smaller packets we still use Royal Mail. This mail is untracked. Next day delivery is NOT guaranteed but most of our parcels do seem to arrive the next day.

2. If your order is extremely heavy, there may be additional delivery costs. We will notify you if this is the case.

3. There may be additional charges to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, and also to Isles of Wight, Man, The Channel Islands and the Scilly Islands.  We will notify before shipping.

We aim to send out each order the same day as it is received. Weekend orders will ship on the next business day. However, please bear with us if we happen to be attending a convention. You can check on these events on our Home Page.

N.B. Postal charges will normally be amended if products are very light (e.g. silks).

Payment (UK only)
We accept the following:
· Personal Cheque (Only by prior arrangement. Please make payable to Practical Magic. Products will NOT ship until your cheque has cleared)

NB Cash sent through the post should be registered for your own safety.


Postage to Europe
For the purposes of postage, the following countries are regarded as being ‘Europe’:

When you submit a Purchase Order, postage is calculated automatically and is 20% of the total of your order. This is a guide only. If your order is light then we will either refund the money (if you paid by PayPal) or, if you paid by credit card, we will only debit the smaller amount. If the item is particularly heavy, the postal costs may be higher than the price indicated on your Purchase Order. If this is the case, we will notify you before we send the order.

Please note we have a minimum shipping cost of £14.75 for European orders.


If you would like an exact price for postage, please send us details of your order and we will calculate for you.  

There are two main ways that we send out orders to Europe:
1. If the item is light (under 2 kg) it is accepted as a Small Packet. This is an untracked service and delivery times can vary. 10 days is a reasonable average.
2. If the item is large, valuable or heavy, we use a tracked service. This is more expensive, but delivery times are much quicker and we send you the tracking number so you can watch the progress of your order.

Payment (Europe)
For European orders we can only accept the following:
· Mastercard 
· Visa
· PayPal

Postage to the Rest of the World
For the purposes of postage, the following countries are regarded as being ‘Europe’. If your country does NOT appear in this list, then it is classed as ‘Rest of the World’:

If the item is particularly heavy, the postal costs may be higher than the price indicated on your Purchase Order. If this is the case, we will notify you before we send the order.

For Rest of the World orders we can only accept the following:
· Mastercard 
· Visa 
· PayPal

RETURNS

If, for any reason, you need to return an item to us, you WILL be liable for all shipping and insurance costs. Any refunds to your account will NOT be made until the item(s) are safely back with us and are undamaged and in original packaging.

Exceptions to this are:
1. If the item is defective, we MAY need to return this to our supplier. We will cover the return shipping costs if it is economical to do so.
2. If we have send an incorrect item in error. i.e. the wrong size silk etc. Again, we will cover shipping costs if it is economical to do so.

MISSING/DELAYED PARCELS

If a parcel does not arrive in the allotted time (10 days Worldwide, 3-5 days Europe, 1-2 days UK), we will of course investigate the missing/delayed package.

International customers please note:

On a rare occasion, your package may be held up in customs in your country. Please allow extra time and check your tracking number regularly.  A parcel is not classed as 'lost' until it has not arrived 25 business days after the expected date. i.e. 35 days Worldwide, 28-30 days Europe, and 26-27 days in the UK.  We cannot send a replacement for your parcel until this time has lapsed.
